Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you buy from A Tale for You, which is run by Hellström Group AB (Swedish company no. 559583-2105, registered with Bolagsverket; Swedish VAT no. SE559583210501) ("we"). Please read them before you order; if you have any questions, you are welcome to contact us. You order in English: you make your choices, see a summary and the price, and can go back and change anything before you tick the boxes and pay. The contract is made when the payment goes through. We keep your order, and you can see it and its invoice in your account. By paying, you accept these terms.
1. What you are buying
- eBook: a personalised picture book created from your choices and your photos, as a PDF and to read in your web browser.
- Printed products: hardback book and colouring book, made from your book.
2. Books created with AI
Texts and pictures are created with AI. The result is unique to each book and may vary; a picture may differ from the photo or from what you had in mind. You can change the texts and ask for new pictures once the book is ready, before you order printed products.
3. Price and payment
Prices are in GBP. Books, eBooks and colouring books carry 0% VAT in the UK, so no VAT is added. Delivery of printed books costs £4.95 per order and is free from two books; express delivery, where it is offered, costs more, and its price is shown before you choose it. You see the total before you pay. Payment is taken by our payment provider when you place your order.
4. Your right to cancel
The eBook is created straight after payment, at your express request. When you buy, you agree that we start straight away and accept that you then lose your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37).
Printed products are made to your choices, so you have no right to cancel them (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b)). Even so, for two hours after payment you can cancel an order for printed products in your account and get all your money back, and in that time you can also change the book. After that the order goes to the printer.
Your right to cancel the eBook and other digital content
Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us (Hellström Group AB, Albanovägen 5, 114 19 Stockholm, Sweden, support@ataleforyou.com) of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model cancellation form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
When the right to cancel ends early
The right to cancel ends once we have begun to create the eBook or other digital content, after you expressly agreed that we begin before the cancellation period ends and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37). You give this agreement with the tick box when you buy, and we confirm it to you by email.

5. Delivery
Printed products are printed in 3–10 working days and sent with tracked delivery to the address you give, within the countries that can be selected at checkout. The risk for the goods passes to you when you have received them. Please check your address: if the parcel does not arrive because the address was wrong, you pay to have it sent again.
6. Faults and complaints
If a printed product is damaged, wrongly printed or does not arrive, contact us through our contact page, ideally with a photo. We must supply books and eBooks that are as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If one is not, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 entitles you to a remedy: for a printed book, a full refund if you reject it within 30 days of delivery, and after that a new book, or money off or a refund if a new book does not put it right; for an eBook, a repair or a new copy, or money off. For a book that is damaged, wrongly printed or never arrives, that means a new book or your money back. The book is printed as you approved it: text and pictures you saw before ordering, a picture that does not look exactly like the photo, printed colours that differ slightly from the screen, or edges trimmed slightly when the book is cut are not faults. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these terms.
7. Your photos and your book
You confirm that you have the right to use the photos you upload, and that you are the parent or guardian of any children in the photos, or have their permission. The book is yours to use privately. You may not sell it, publish it or use it commercially. We never show your book publicly without your written consent. How we handle the data is described in the privacy policy.
8. Content that is not allowed
You may not use the service for content that offends others or is unlawful, or with photos of people who have not given their consent. Nor may you use characters, brands or logos that belong to others. We may refuse or remove such content and cancel the order.
9. Refer a friend
Anyone who has bought an eBook receives a personal link. A new customer – an email address that has not bought a book before – gets their first eBook free through the link. The person who shared the link receives a free eBook, valid for one year, once the friend has created their eBook through the link; it is deducted at the next purchase made while logged in. You can receive at most ten free eBooks a year; a friend who buys after that still pays half price. The discount applies once per recipient and cannot be exchanged for money. We may stop links that are misused. We may change or end the offer; free eBooks you have already received remain valid.
10. Account
Your books stay in your account for as long as you have it, so that you can read, download and order them. You can delete your account at any time; your books, photos and recordings are then deleted.
11. Changes to the terms
We may change the terms. A purchase follows the terms that applied when you paid.
12. Disputes
Please contact us first and we will sort it out. Swedish law applies, but if you live in the UK you keep the protection that UK consumer law gives you. You can take a dispute to the courts where you live, and we can only take you to court there. We do not use an out-of-court dispute scheme in the UK; if we cannot settle your complaint, we will tell you so in writing. Free consumer advice is available from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk).
Version 3, for purchases paid from 2026-11-05. Earlier purchases follow version 2.
